Kileder 100 killer.

DVATC had 4 riders enter this years Kielder 100 challenge, which turned out to be a killer ride for both riders and bikes.  This years event had 800 entrants and only 177 finishers, which is a fair reflection of conditions.

Congratulations to Mark and Stef who both managed to finish the 100 mile course.  Mark took 9 hours 56 mins and came 24th.  Stef took 13 hours 10 mins and came 161st.   Andy and Paul both put in good efforts but unfortunately didn’t manage to make it through the cut off points in time to try and complete the full course.

Who’s man enough to take on the challenge next year?

SITs 2011 Male Pairs Podium (Rob Crayton)

Another Sleepless in the Saddle Podium for DVATC

Phil and Mark manned up this year and took 3rd place at this years Sleepless in the Saddle in the male pairs category.  DVATC have now had podium fininshes at Sleepless 3 times in the last 4 years.  Big thanks to High5 for the supply of energy drink and bars for the event and www.Cyclomonster.com for the supply of Aerozine chainrings.

Club Champs Updated

The results for the round 8 – The downhill race are now up along with the updated league table.  Lots of jokers played and the fight for 1st place is heating up.

The event proved tricky for the downhill boys who seemed to struggle with the concept, and were beaten by numerous XC riders.  No bonus points were available for  the best crash, Russ still gave it his best shot though with a spectacular final bend stack, but still managed to beat the DH boys.

All in all an entertaining event, roll on Round 9.

RIP Pasty

It is sad to announce but on Saturday 26th March Phil’s pasty was involved in an RTA with a bus on Penrith Road in Keswick when it fell out of his back pocket during the ride back from the petrol station

The pasty’s short but happy life was celebrated by numerous members of the DVATC later that day in Keswicks numerous public houses.
